The Grosvenors at Home

The Grosvenors trace their descent from Gilbert le Grosveneur, nephew of Hugh d’Avranches.

Nicknamed Lupus (Latin for wolf) Hugh was a nephew of William the Conqueror, and was to become the first in a line of seven Norman Earls of Chester.
