This estate comprises 23,500 acres in North Lancashire’s historic Forest of Bowland, lying either side of the River Wyre and with the attractive stone village of Abbeystead at its heart.

From upland pastures and moorland, to deep wooded valleys, the Forest of Bowland is wild and magnificent. Since 1964 it has been a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, having been recognised for its ‘precious landscapes whose distinctive character and natural beauty are so outstanding that it is in the nation's best interests to protect them.’

The estate has also been acknowledged by the European authorities, as being both a Special Protection Area and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
