Rivers

River Laxford

The estate has five river systems each of which contains salmon and sea and brown trout. The major system is the Laxford, which includes Lochs More and Stack and derives its name from the Norse word for salmon. Scottish rivers have long supported large, high-quality populations of fish, which have in turn provided some world-famous fishing. The  Laxford is no exception, despite being a mere three miles from its source to the point where it empties into a sea loch at Laxford Bridge.
