The Eaton Estate is home to charming villages and fertile farmland just outside the beautiful city of Chester.
The Eaton Estate includes the thriving villages of Aldford, Eccleston and Saighton. It contains some 450 homes, farms and businesses, six schools and over 10,000 acres of high quality agricultural land in Cheshire, North West England. At its heart sits Eaton Hall, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster and the Grosvenor family.
The history of the Eaton Estate can be traced back to the early 1440s; its story – past, present and future – is inextricably linked with those of the Grosvenor family and the city of Chester. We continue to own residential and commercial property in Chester; we are actively involved in the life of the city and work hard to make a positive long-term contribution to the local community.
The Eaton Estate management team is also responsible for the Halkyn Estate in North Wales. This area is rich in various stones and minerals such as limestone, churtstone and lead. Quarrying of these minerals formed the original basis of the Grosvenor family's wealth and some quarrying is still carried out, under lease, today.
